Who we are
Bet! GUILTY or NOT? (the “Game”) is a LAWGAMES title operated by Bornfreund Legal Services, Professional Corporation (“we”, “us”). This policy describes what information the Game collects and how it is used.
What we collect
Judge handle — the name you choose when you take the bench. It is public: it appears on the leaderboard and in the recent-action ticker. Pick any name; it does not need to identify you.
Judge ID and secret key — a credential pair generated when you take the bench. There is no email address, password or social sign-in. Anyone holding both values can play as you, so keep them private.
Gameplay data — your Gavel bankroll, win/loss record, and every wager (the case, the side, the stake, the odds locked at the time, and the result). Individual wagers appear publicly in the recent-action ticker with your handle.
Local device storage — your Judge ID and secret are kept in your browser’s local storage so you stay seated between visits. If you arrived from the Game’s old address on playguiltyornot.com, your seat and, where present, your GUILTY or NOT? judge name were carried over the same way. We do not use advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
We do not collect your email address, and there is nothing to buy: Gavels cannot be purchased, so no payment information is ever requested.
House accounts
Some Judges on the board are house accounts operated by us. They are marked “House” wherever they appear and are excluded from the headline totals.
Service providers
Supabase — database infrastructure that stores the docket, Judges and wagers.
Our web host — serves the site’s pages and may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested.
These providers process data on our behalf to run the Game. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep Judge records and wager history for as long as the Game runs, so that records, results and leaderboards stay accurate. To have your Judge record deleted, contact us with your Judge ID. We cannot recover a lost secret key or restore a seat whose credentials have been cleared from your browser.
Age
The Game is intended for adults 18 and older (see our Terms of Use) and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger.
